Project Book Drop

Who are we?
We are a pair of librarians who want to give back to our community and support local business at the same time. The goal of Project Book Drop is to provide brand new diverse books for students at Eastern Hills, Atwood McDonald, and East Handley Elementary Schools in Fort Worth. Working with The Dock Bookshop, a locally owned independent bookstore, we will be giving supporters the option to buy books in store, online, or donate amounts at small as $5 to the project.

All books purchased through direct sale or donation will be split between the three campuses and the books will be donated to their campus libraries. Librarians have provided a wish list of specific titles they would like donated and these books can be specifically donated to the campus that has requested them. Any questions can be emailed to Nicole Graham at nlgraham0304@gmail.com or Donna Craddock, co-owner of The Dock Bookshop at thedockbookshop@gmail.com.

How can I help?
Beginning on Friday November 27th, There are 3 ways you can participate.
  • You can go to the The Dock Bookshop, located at 6637 Meadowbrook Dr, Fort Worth, TX 76112 and choose a children's book(s) and tell the clerk at checkout the book is for Project Book Drop and they will put that book aside for donation.
  • You can shop online at https://www.thedockbookshop.com/ and choose the books you wish to donate. When you check out, specify Store Pickup as your delivery and put Project Book Drop in the notes section so that The Dock will know it is a donated book.
  • On https://www.thedockbookshop.com/ website there will be a Donate button where you can complete a form and make a cash donation towards the project. All cash donations will be used to purchase books for the campuses and will be split evenly. Donations as small as $5 will be accepted and appreciated. Click here to donate
FYI'S
  • This is not a used book drive, please DO NOT drop off used books to the book shop. The goal of this drive is to provide new books to students at these campuses as well as support a valuable local independent bookstore. Any help is welcome and even if you can only donate the smallest amount, it is so appreciated.
  • The book drive runs through December 19th and all book will be donated to campuses when they come back from Winter Break in early January.
